Annual Report 2024 | Learning Together resources : Annual Reports Share Print Since 1975, Inter Pares has facilitated connections between activists, organizations and movements working towards social justice. We have learned from each other by sharing deep knowledge of the roots of injustice and communities’ local solutions. We have built strong bonds based on mutual respect, shared values and collective commitment. Our 2024 annual report Learning Together: Connecting social justice movements highlights the depth and richness of these connections—and the lasting change they foster. What's inside... Planting seeds of change: Women farmers from West Africa and Canada on tour In September 2024, Inter Pares hosted seven feminist leaders from West Africa for a learning exchange focused on gender equality and agroecology. Over 10 days, counterparts from Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Togo, Burkina Faso, and Côte d'Ivoire exchanged strategies with Canadian farmers and activists. Their discussions highlighted shared struggles around climate change, corporate control of seeds, and women’s access to land, strengthening the global movement for food sovereignty and gender equality. Bringing Sudan's crisis to Canada: Sudanese activists share their stories In August 2024, Inter Pares hosted two Sudanese human rights advocates on an urgent advocacy tour. As Sudan grapples with one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, our counterparts shared firsthand accounts of war, displacement, and the struggles of LGBTQI+ communities. Their testimonies shed light on the urgent need for action, pushing for policies to address the crisis and ensure that LGBTQI+ refugees are not overlooked in international responses. Breaking Barriers to Health: Connecting movements for sexual and reproductive health and rights In October, three activists from Bangladesh, El Salvador and the Philippines traveled across eastern Canada for a series of conversations about sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). At public events, universities, and community gatherings, these women created space for learning, reflecting, and sharing stories. Plus...
