Inter Pares participates in DFATD Consultation on Civil Society Partnerships

Last month, Inter Pares made a series of policy recommendations to the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) as part of a consultation process regarding Civil Society Partnerships. The Government of Canada's policy contains guiding principles for its partnership with international development civil society organizations (CSOs), like Inter Pares.

Drawing on our long history of supporting civil society organizations here in Canada and around the world, Inter Pares' submission made ten key recommendations. Critical amongst those is our recommendation for a renewed and strengthened commitment to the promotion of women's rights, and the recognition of the legitimacy of Canadian CSO interventions in domestic debates that are within their mandate.
