Nikki Richard is Co-Manager of the Burma Program at Inter Pares. Her key focus areas are the nexus of human rights and the environment, and community development work.

Nikki spent several years in Southeast Asia, previously working with EarthRights International in Chiang Mai, Thailand, in solidarity with youth advocates from across the Mekong region (Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and China) on using the power of law and the power of people in defense of human rights and the environment. She has also worked in Bangkok with ALTSEAN-Burma’s feminist leadership program, and as a Gender Advisor for a CECI livelihood project in the Philippines.

Nikki received her Master’s degree in International Human Rights Law (LLM) from the University of Essex, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Calgary. Nikki is also inspired by the areas of mental health and self-care for HRDs, feminism, indigenous peoples’ rights, and climate justice.
