GRAMA (Groupe de recherche sur les activités minières en Afrique, Research Group on Mining Activity in Africa) is a research group based at Université du Québec à Montreal.

The research group focuses on local ownership and the implementation of strategies for resources development that contributes to the development of host countries on a sustainable basis.

Based on findings of research conducted in Burkina Faso, Ghana, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania and by the contributions of partner researchers from these countries, GRAMA’s analysis intends to feed into the reflection of policy makers and practitioners in the field, as well as to play an advisory role to the private sector and civil society, both in Canada and Africa.
