Juan Camilo Suárez people Share Print Juan Camilo Suárez C. is an International Development professional with experience in the public sector in Colombia and the non-profit sector in Canada. His work has focused on peacebuilding and reconciliation and resource mobilization with organizations that promote social justice. From Bogotá, Colombia, Juan worked previously with the Colombian government in the Unit for Victims’ Assistance and Reparations, and with Batuta National Foundation, supporting the collective efforts to repair victims of violations of international human rights law and violations of international humanitarian law. Before moving to Ottawa, his work focused on Toronto’s non-profit sector, working in communications and public engagement, and individual philanthropy. Juan received his Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University, L’Institut d’ études politiques de Paris, and Universidad Externado de Colombia, a Post-Graduate Certificate in International Development from Centennial College, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Government and International Relations from Universidad Externado de Colombia. Juan is passionate about peace and democracy, food sovereignty, and climate justice. He has a distinct interest in fundraising operations, individual and foundation giving, process improvements, and project management.
