Activists Rising!A Celebration of Youth Leadership November 18, 2021 | 4:00pm EST FeaturingBYTE - Empowering Youth Society (Yukon, Canada)Tiniguena (Guinea-Bissau) Inter Pares is thrilled to recognize the amazing work of BYTE - Empowering Youth Society, an organization "by youth, for youth" that focuses on the empowerment and advancement of youth throughout the Yukon and northern Canada. The Peter Gillespie Social Justice Award commemorates the legacy of our former colleague, Peter Gillespie, by honouring social justice organizations based in Canada. A unique award has been created in honour of BYTE by Inuit artist Gayle Uyagaqi Kabloona, and she will join us to speak about the meaning of her piece. Also during the online celebration, we will be joined by Luana Pereira, a youth collaborator with our counterpart Tiniguena, an environmental education organization in Guinea-Bissau. We look forward to sparking an open conversation with you and these inspiring activists!
