2003 Annual report
Message from the Chair
I know I speak for my fellow Board members when I say that it is a pleasure and a privilege to serve on the Inter Pares Board of Directors. We are able to bring our individual interests and experience in working for social justice in Canada to an organization that so effectively engages in international cooperation and support for social transformation. Inter Pares is an organization that is always learning, and Board members contribute to and benefit from the ongoing reflection on the relevance and value of Inter Pares' programs around the world.
As Inter Pares approaches three decades of action for social justice and development, we are pleased to see the vitality and renewal within the organization in terms of staffing, donor support, and relationships with counterpart organizations abroad. The team of 15 full-time staff bridge many generations and professional backgrounds, ensuring that Inter Pares' original vision of working among equals is finding new forms of expression among those who have inherited the past and are committed to continuing this work into the future.
We are also gratified to see the continuing, generous support of Inter Pares' donors across Canada. All Inter Pares staff are involved in relating to our supporters, and this personal attention and respect is rewarded by the trust and thoughtful commitment Inter Pares enjoys from almost ten thousand Canadians across the country. Donors are increasingly using our web site (www.interpares.ca) to inform themselves about the work they are supporting, and to make donations directly on line.
We trust you will enjoy reading this year's Annual Report. We welcome your comments and questions.
