Confronting Sexual Violence in Armed Conflict
This September, Inter Pares will hold public events in Ottawa and Toronto with our colleagues from Latin America, Asia and Africa. We invite you, your family and friends to join us and hear the inspiring stories of activists who are fighting for women's rights around the world. Share in their struggles to promote women's participation in critical peace processes, and to assist survivors of sexual violence during armed conflict in their search for healing and justice.

Women from Burma Know Violence
Unfortunately, Zipporah Sein, the high-profile speaker for this event, encountered serious delays with immigration. Inter Pares and the Vancouver Burma Round Table (event co-hosts) were forced to make the difficult decision to cancel this public event. Zipporah Sein will be in Canada speaking at the above events in both Ottawa and Toronto and she will still be visiting Vancouver. The Vancouver Burma Round Table may still coordinate an informal gathering with Zipporah Sein; for further details please contact Rod Germaine at
