Sylvia Estrada-Claudio, M.D., PhD
Sylvia is the co-founder and chair of the board of Likhaan, a national women's health organization in the Philippines, co-chair of the board of the Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights, Associate Professor of Women and Development Studies at the University of the Philippines, physician, feminist counsellor, author, poet. As an activist and leader in the women's health movement, Sylvia is a strong advocate for integrated, public, not-for-profit, health care.
Canada's Public Health Care System: Medicare, Privatization, and Citizen Action
Shirley Douglas, O.C., LL.D
Shirley is the national spokesperson for the Canadian Health Coalition, an organization devoted to preserving and enhancing our public health care system. Shirley is a renowned civil rights activist, actor of stage, screen, and film, recipient of the Order of Canada, and one of the country's most prominent advocates in protecting Canada's universal public health care system.
